School History
I founded The Canadian School of Electrolysis because I saw a real need for high-quality electrolysis education in Canada. Before becoming an electrologist, I had a background in teaching, and I always knew that my passion for education would play a role in my career. After spending 10 years as an electrologist, I realized that there was a gap in the industry—many aspiring professionals lacked access to thorough and comprehensive training. I wanted to change that by creating a school where students could gain both the knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed. My goal is to ensure that every student graduates confident in their abilities, fully prepared to work in the field or start their own business. With that vision in mind, I partnered with Dectro, a world leader in electrolysis technology and education, to offer a curriculum that reflects the highest standards in the industry. The school is not just a place to learn; it’s a place to elevate the entire profession.

Meet the Educator: Brookes Brown
Once upon a time, in a quaint town not so far away, I, Brookes Brown, lived a life that was anything but ordinary. For many years, I faced a challenge that would make many shy away—a mustache that, in my own words, “could put Burt Reynolds to shame!” My life took a magical turn when I met a wise electrologist who helped me banish my unwanted facial hair, transforming my life in a way I could never have imagined.
When this wise electrologist decided to retire, she saw something special in me—a spark that convinced her I was destined for more. “You could be an incredible electrologist,” she told me, passing along her knowledge and secrets. With her guidance and the support of a mentor, I embarked on a journey to master the ancient art of electrolysis.
In 2016, I took a bold leap of faith. With determination and vision, I built my very own electrolysis studio from the ground up, pouring my heart and soul into this new venture. Through hard work and perseverance, I earned my CPE (Certified Professional Electrologist) designation, a badge of honor that marked me as an expert in my craft.
But my journey didn’t end there. My love for the industry led me to take on leadership roles, where I served as both Vice Chair and Chairperson of the Federation of Canadian Electrolysis Associations (FCEA). In these roles, I worked tirelessly to elevate the standards of my beloved profession, guiding others with the same care and passion that had fueled my own success.
Over the years, I honed my skills to near perfection, wielding my electrolysis tools like a magical wand. Each client I helped reaffirmed my belief that my work was more than just a job—it was a transformative journey, helping individuals feel confident and joyous in their own skin. Tackling even the most challenging cases, from those with PCOS to clients in all stages of transitioning has, filled me with pride and purpose.
When I’m not performing my electrolysis magic, I cherish life in my own enchanted kingdom with my Prince Charming and our two beautiful princesses. Together, we embark on countless adventures, while my love for reading and learning keeps my nose buried in books. My family is my greatest treasure, inspiring me everyday.
And so, in the peaceful town of Cobourg, I founded The Canadian School of Electrolysis. Here, I share my wisdom and experience, ready to guide new students on their own magical journey. With a heart full of passion and a wealth of knowledge, I am eager to help you find your confidence and unlock your full potential.
